Our Commitment
AFES Workforce, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit, holds the certifications to assist people with disabilities with job training and employment services. We are preparing a workforce of individuals with in-person, virtual, and pre-placement job training, such as VR’s Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS).
AFES Workforce, Inc., Employment Specialist(s): We purposely help eligible young adults with disabilities to work and find ways to save money for permanent housing. The following are VR’s employment services that our nonprofit corporation offers.

An Employment Specialist:
“An Employment Specialist (ES) helps people find suitable jobs. They usually focus on assisting individuals with mental health issues, disabilities, or those from other underrepresented groups, such as U.S. veterans and military families. Their primary duties include establishing trusting relationships with clients, helping them understand their rights in the workplace, and connecting them with job development and vocational opportunities”—online source.

Self-Advocacy Training:
The self-advocacy provider is committed to empowering and training students. Self-advocacy training prepares students to communicate their strengths, abilities, interests, and needs effectively when interviewing with potential employers or applying to trade schools, colleges, or universities.

Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS):

On-The-Job-Training (OJT):
Service Definition: VR defines the OJT plan as an inventory of participants’ interests, resources, and accommodations for possible future paid work experience.

Supported Employment Services:
Supported employment is an approach to vocational rehabilitation that assists participants with a most significant disability in finding and keeping a job that pays a competitive wage, is consistent with the unique strengths, abilities, interests, and informed choice of the individuals, provides the support necessary for the participants including youths with a significant disability to be successful in the workplace.

Workforce Graduation Event: You did it!
When you complete our job training programs, our graduates are invited to a workforce graduation event with their personal and professional support, such as family and friends.
